Until All The Digits Die
“i had the oddest episode ever. people weren't for real, they were just patterns and digits all doing the same things. then i was havin a smoke after i finally got out of work and saw this lady with over-knee shiny boots over leggings, and i knew she wasn't my gf cause my gf's out of town. she had this busted up car that i also knew wasn't my gf. sitting at the light at the busy intersection, i almost got impatient and gunned it across the street against the light. that kinda snapped me out of it, and my first 'conscious' thought was "until all the digits die" and just about burst into tears. but realized, i'd been thinkin earlier about how hard drives and shit will last longer than humans and never really be gone, and whatever comes after humans will know we were here, and they'll know how we were if they figure out how to make everything work again. then i had that last hour or so at work just completely derealized but that one lady and her car made me think of my gf, and i looked back after i typed it all out and realized i was probly thinking "not 'i will love you to the last beat of my heart'... should be 'until all the digits die' "
